This is my new go to recipe for squash soup. The apples and brown sugar are the secret ingredients. It is the perfect comfort food on a chilly fall day. I have an immersion blender and it made everything come together nicely.

Absolutely delicious!!! This soup was so tasty and wholesome. It’s perfect on a rainy cold day as a main or as a refreshing starter to a full meal. The flavors were so good and especially with the suggested garnishes. I used pepita seeds. This recipe is a keeper for sure!

In reply to Laurie. So glad you liked it! You can freeze it! I use a gallon size zip lock bag and freeze flat. Double bag it for extra protection, if your bag gets a hole in it it'll be a mess during the thaw. Sometimes when it's thawed, you might see some separation, but once stirred and heated it's great and doesn't separate again.

Made today and it is so good and nice and thick. Has anyone froze this recipe? Would love to serve at Thanksgiving but too busy to make then. i worry that it won’t retain the wonderful fresh taste.
