This pizza like appetizer has lovely creamy sauce with mediterranean flavors all atop a slightly crisp flaky crust (the secret is in the crust on this one). Greek Isle Appetizer is your new favorite secret weapon in the kitchen! Perfect for entertaining, or make it meal for your family.
Greek Isle Appetizer
Hey ya’ll! I’m so excited to share this recipe with you. I had this at my book club this past summer and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. This recipe comes from my one of my fellow book clubbers, Shelli. We affectionately refer to each other as “the other Shelli/Chellie” 🙂
The other Shelli said I could share this goodness on my blog with you all. I know! She’s grand like that.
If you just can’t wait any longer, scroll down to view the recipe and add it to your recipe collection. If you love to read (not just cookbooks), scroll a little slower to see what we read this time.
Books & Friends
Book club is one of my favorite things to do. I love reading, and, having the opportunity to read the same book as others and discuss it just brings the book to a whole new level. But what really makes it extra special are the people gathered around the table.
Something extraordinary happens when you break bread together. Whether your sharing your thoughts on a book or how you’re navigating your kid’s first year in college, or whatever else is going on in your life, there is connection. There is community. And we all need that.
The Land Of Silence
The Land of Silence is based on the story from the Bible about the woman who bled for 12 years (can you even imagine?) and was healed by touching the hem of Jesus’ clothes.
The author created a whole back story before you get to the part where she starts bleeding, and I like how it showed that events in your life can have an effect for years to come. And, how redemption is possible.
There was a small portion where I felt frustrated by the character and her choices, however, I appreciated that the author could bring out those feelings in me. We rated this book 3.5 stars out of 5.
Can you see why we had this lovely Greek Isle Appetizer and it’s Mediterranean roots? Along with it, Shelli served slow roasted cherry tomatoes, figs, hummus, naan, pistachios, veggies, and there was so much I’m sure I’m missing something.
Oh! and let’s not forget about the drinks! Bloody Mary’s and Blood Orange life water!
It was a lovely spread. Plus, she sent us each home with a memoir~a unique cloth napkin and some marinated olives, tagged with our names. On the back of the name tags, were the meanings of our names. You’ll have to read the book to see the significance behind the swag. 🙂
If you decide to read the book, I’d love to know your thoughts! Make sure you eat Greek Isle Appetizer and enjoy a blood orange life water while you read it.
