Notes

If you don't have apple pie spice you can easily make it:
4 Tbs cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground allspice
To make the cooked oatmeal thinner, add a bit more water; if you like thicker oatmeal add a little bit less water.
You can pre-measure 1/3 cup of the oatmeal and place it in a snack size zip lock bag. This makes it especially easy for kids to make their own breakfast, or to take it to the office with you.
Microwave instructions: Mix 1/3 cup oatmeal and 2/3 cups water together in a microwave safe bowl. Cook for 1 minute, stir. Cook for additional minute if needed.
