- 2 cups milk
- 3 oz cream cheese
- 3 Tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 cup parmesan cheese freshly grated
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 16 oz Fettuccine noodles
- 2 cups cooked chicken cut into bite size pieces (optional)
Place the milk, cream cheese, flour and salt in a blender and mix well.
Melt butter in a medium sauce pan.
add garlic, and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
Add milk mixture.
Stirring, bring mixture to a simmer and continue cooking until sauce is thickened.
Remove from heat, add parmesan cheese and nutmeg.
Cover and set aside.
Add Fettuccine to boiling water and cook according to package instructions.
Drain pasta and return to pot.
Add chicken, if using, and sauce, and mix well.
Serve immediately.
