4 breakfast toast ideas, 1 slice with peanut butter, rolled oats and chocolate chips, 1 with yogurt, honey, fresh raspberries and fresh peaches, 1 with almond butter, coconut and fresh blueberries, 1 with cream cheese, avocado slices, and sliced strawberries

Do you ever get stuck in a ‘not so great for you’ eating habit? It’s like the more junk I put in my body, the more junk I want.

It’s true! It was my birthday last week, and 3 of my 4 kids bought me chocolate. (I know, I’m so blessed!) The good kind, the dark kind. And I’m having a hard time NOT eating it all at once!

But just because it’s dark chocolate and has some benefits doesn’t mean I should eat it all the time. The more I eat, the more I crave. That’s the problem with sugar.

Good News! I find the opposite is just as true. The more healthy stuff I put in my body, the more healthy stuff it craves.

The holidays brings loads of extra treats and things that aren’t exactly healthy. And don’t get me wrong, I believe in indulgences. Have you seen these brownies? Or these super chocolatey cupcakes (they have a secret ingredient to deepen the flavor)?

Raspberry Peach Breakfast Toast, whole grain bred, yogurt, honey, fresh raspberries, fresh peach slices

As we enter all the holiday season’s eatings, let’s keep things in balance. I find that if I start my day with a healthy breakfast I’m more apt to keep on eating healthy the rest of the day.

Eggs are probably my number one go-to for breakfast. I love mini Frittatas, which you can make ahead, and these quinoa breakfast bowls.

But sometimes, when you’re on the go, you don’t exactly want to break out the cooking utensils.
