There’s just something about sipping a pretty drink that makes everything feel a little more special, even if it’s a regular Tuesday afternoon. This Blueberry Mint Mocktail is refreshing, lightly sweet, and full of fresh seasonal flavor. And the best part? It’s completely alcohol-free, so the whole family can enjoy it!

Whether you’re hosting a summer brunch, looking for a fun drink for girls’ night in, or just want to treat yourself to something beautiful (because hello, you deserve it), this mocktail checks all the boxes. It’s made with real ingredients—like fresh blueberries, fresh mint, and a homemade syrup—and it’s as easy to make as it is to drink.
Pull up a chair, grab some ice, and let’s mix up a little joy in a glass.
If you love fruity, refreshing drinks, you might also enjoy my Blackberry Mocktail — it’s made with a homemade blackberry vanilla tea syrup and has a cozy twist that’s perfect year-round.
Why you’ll love this recipe:
Ingredient Notes
This blueberry mint mocktail is made with real, simple ingredients that come together for a fresh and flavorful sip.

- Blueberries – I like fresh best for the mocktail itself. You’ll use them for flavor and for a beautiful garnish. If all you have is frozen, just thaw them first.
- Mint Leaves – Fresh mint adds that crisp, cooling element that balances the sweetness of the syrup. If you’re out of mint, try basil for a fun twist.
- Lemon Juice – Always fresh squeezed in my house. It truly adds a brighter, more vibrant flavor. You’ll need 1-2 lemons to yield enough lemon juice, depending on how juicy your lemons are. Use a citrus press to make your life easier– trust me!
- Sparkling Water – A good-quality sparkling water or club soda makes a big difference! I like Fever-Tree because it’s extra bubbly and super clean-tasting. Often I make my own with my Soda Stream.
- Ice – You’ll need some for the shaker and some for your glass. Crushed or cubed, whatever you prefer! This year I purchased a nugget ice maker and I’m in love!
- Garnish – A few extra blueberries and a sprig of mint go a long way in making this drink look fancy, even if it’s just you on the porch with a good book.
How to Make A Blueberry Mint Mocktail
This drink comes together quickly once your blueberry simple syrup is ready. I have included instructions in the recipe card below, but for a full tutorial on the simple syrup, check out the post linked above.
Be sure to check out the full recipe and ingredient list in the recipe card below.

- Add fresh blueberries, blueberry syrup (see recipe card), lemon juice, and mint leaves to a cocktail shaker.
- Gently muddle the ingredients to burst the blueberries and bring out the flavor of the mint.
- Add ice to the shaker, shake for 15-20 seconds to chill the drink, then strain over ice into a glass.
- Top it off with sparkling water, give it a gentle stir, garnish and enjoy!

Blueberries are one of my favorite summer ingredients—whether it’s in a drink like this, used in this fresh blueberry pie, or tossed into a Berry Smoothie. If you find yourself with an abundance, here’s How To Freeze Blueberries so you can enjoy them all year long. I will purposely buy extra for this reason.

Tips & Tricks
- Muddle gently. You want to press the berries and mint just enough to release their flavor. Overworked mint can become slightly bitter.
- Use chilled ingredients. Start with cold club soda and syrup to keep your drink nice and crisp.
- Make the syrup ahead of time. Having the blueberry simple syrup already made and chilled in the fridge means you’re just minutes away from a gorgeous mocktail anytime the craving strikes.
- Swap the mint. No mint? Try basil for a fun twist, or even thyme. It still brings a fresh herbal note but with a slightly different vibe.
- Make it a cocktail. If you’re in the mood for something with a little kick, add an ounce of vodka, gin, or white rum.
- Double it up. Making mocktails for a group? Multiply the ingredients and mix it all in a pitcher. Just add the soda last to keep the bubbles lively.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! Frozen blueberries work great. For the drink, thaw them first before muddling. They may release a bit more juice than fresh ones, which actually intensifies the flavor. You can use frozen blueberries in the syrup without thawing them first, no problem.
No problem! The handle of a wooden spoon works just fine for muddling. A mason jar works great for shaking. Use a pint size and secure the lid tightly. You may want to pour it through a small strainer if you don’t want bits of blueberry or mint in your glass. Use what you have, it’ll still taste amazing!
Absolutely! Add an ounce of your favorite clear spirit. Vodka, Gin, or White rum work well.
Storing and Freezing
As with most Mocktails, this one is best enjoyed immediately.

Blueberry Mint Mocktail
Equipment
- sauce pan
- fine mesh sieve
- Cocktail glass
Ingredients
Blueberry Simple Syrup:
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup fresh blueberries
Blueberry Mint Mocktail:
- 3 large mint leaves
- ¼ cup fresh blueberries
- 1 ½ ounce blueberry simple syrup
- 2 ounces lemon juice
- 3 ounces club soda
- Additional blueberries and mint leaves for optional garnish
Instructions
For the Blueberry Simple Syrup:
- Combine the water, granulated sugar, and blueberries in a saucepan. Over medium heat, stir continuously until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture comes to a light boil. Reduce heat and simmer while continuing to stir until the blueberries break down, about 10 minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a glass container. Mash the berries as you strain to get as much of the juice out as possible. Refrigerate until chilled and ready to mix your mocktail.
Blueberry Mint Mocktail:
- To a cocktail shaker, add the mint leaves, fresh blueberries, blueberry simple syrup, and lemon juice. Muddle together until fragrant.
- Add ice to the shaker, cover, and shake 15-20 seconds until mixture is chilled.
- Add ice to a glass and strain the blueberry mixture into the glass. Top with club soda and gently stir.
- Garnish with blueberries and fresh mint.
Notes
- The prep time listed DOES NOT include the time to make the syrup. It takes about 15 minutes to make the syrup, plus another 30-60 minutes to get it good and chilled. I recommend making it ahead of time.
- This mocktail could be made with basil instead of mint for a fun twist. I especially love the fresh mint in the summer, but often mix it up and use basil during other times of the year.
- Serve this mocktail in a decorative glass or a stemless wine glass.
- You can make this mocktail a cocktail by adding 1 ounce of a clear spirit (such as vodka, gin, or white rum). My testers liked an extra splash of blueberry simple syrup when making it a cocktail.
- The recipe here makes enough blueberry simple syrup to make 2-3 mocktails. If you want a larger batch, see my Blueberry Simple Syrup Post. It keeps in the fridge for a couple weeks and you can use it to make Italian sodas, flavor lemonade, or sparkling water.

This mocktail is so refreshing and perfect for summer! I love that it’s a fun drink the the whole family can enjoy, but one that can be turned into a cocktail for the adults on occasion! My kids love that we are able to incorporate blueberries from our annual family blueberry picking into this mocktail as well 🙂
